I have a Twitter now!

You know, I've said that I do not want to turn my blog into a release hub, so in the vein of making useless posts for nothing else other than my own amusement, I post to tell you that I have a twitter account now!

I have a weird history with text messaging (which I may get into in a future blog post), so me getting an acoount with Twitter is a milestone for me. Follow me! We'll be cool together.

Release #0003 "GBA Star Wars Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith"

Oh man, my worst fear is coming true. This blog is becoming nothing more than a hub for my random releases. Gah, I need to make more posts about other things, beyond releases. Truth be told, I do have an article in waiting, so maybe I’ll get around to writing that soon.

In the meantime, here’s another release:

Star Wars Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith

This is the soundtrack to the video game Star Wars Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith, specifically the Game Boy Advance version. This game used a lot of the music from the films, albeit digitized ala the Super Nintendo. I always liked the way the music was remixed, so if you happen to be a fan of Super Star Wars (or just chiptune-style music), I recommend you check this soundtrack out. It’s really rather awesome. I’ve spent weeks working on this particular one, so I hope you all like it!

It’s a standard .zip file with all the music (in mp3 format) from the game. Grab it through the links below. Later guys! :D

Release #0002 “SNES Killer Instinct Special Edition 2 Disc OST”

I meant to upload this release earlier, but then I lost internet for a couple days, and so I suffered a delay. My bad.

Anyway, here comes the next release straight from VenomSymbiote’s Web:

01 SNES Killer Instinct Special Edition 2 Disc OST Cover

I love the first Killer Instinct (I still have the black cartridge on the SNES :D), and the music is something that I can’t imagine playing the game without. Now, there was an arranged soundtrack for this game called “Killer Cuts” (which is included in this download), but it was ridiculously difficult to find the soundtrack to the actual game. That’s why this 2-Disc set exists now, so other people can hear the music in all it’s glory.

It’s a standard .zip file with all the music (in mp3 format) from the game, as well as the album “Killer Cuts.” Grab it through the link below. Later guys! :D

Release #0001 “SNES Jurassic Park OST”

I’m putting this blog to use.

I happen to think I’m good at making albums of things that were never released, and while I’ve made a few in the past, I’ve never had a central location for this stuff. Until now, anyway. I’ve decided to use this blog as a central hub for albums I’ve made.

And my first release is:

SNES Jurassic Park OST Cover

The score to this game was never officially released, and while there have been some attempts in the past by other fans to release this, I’m making the best release you’ll ever find of this. I went all out. Jurassic Park was an alright game, and the music was pretty memorable. Thus, I’m putting it all up for you to enjoy.

Now, this soundtrack was made specifically for this website. If you would like to share this download, that’s fine… just simply leave everything in this download exactly the way it is. That way, everyone can enjoy it the way it was intended. Thanks!

VenomSymbiote’s Top 10 Video Games

I literally grew up with video games. I can vividly remember my uncle giving me my first console ever, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, along with a bunch of games. And you know what? I’m one of the very few people left on the planet to still have their first SNES still fully-working. I know of several people who have had to replace theirs because they died, but not me. Yay! I still play it, too.

As well, my mom can tell you all about the Game Boy, seeing as how her entire life, after I was born, was spent on watching me play it, as well as spending literally hundreds of dollars on batteries for me, since I would go through each pair in two days. And while I no longer own my original Game Boy, I have kept my SP Mark I model so I can always go back and play it’s expansive library, as well as games that mean a lot to me.

Seeing how video games are a huge part of my life, I’ve decided to present to you my Top 10 video games. Inspired by the good folks over at vgconvos, I think it’s time I decided for myself what games are indeed my favorite of all time.

We’ll be going from #10 (being my least favorite of the favorites) to #01 (the best). So, I present to you:

My Top 10 Video Games Of All Time!!!

Let’s get started, shall we?

#10). Super Star Wars (1992, SNES)

563218_28918_front

You know, as I type this, I just found out this was released on Virtual Console. I find that outstanding. Of course, I’m not buying it. Why? Well, I still own it. Therefore, getting it would be a waste of money. As well, I cannot imagine playing this without the SNES controller. Now, as I’ve heard that this game is insanely difficult. Now, I don’t mean to brag, but I can beat this game in less than 1 hour and a half. Yes. I can. How? Well, this is one of the few games I’ve had since I got my SNES, so I’ve had YEARS to master it. And that’s why I cannot fathom playing this with any other remote. As well, this was also the game that got me into Star Wars. All the music is digitized wonderfully, and I never get tired of beating the final level, which is (you guessed it!) the assault on the Death Star. It’s also a pretty nice looking game, so that’s why it’s at #010.

#9). Super Mario RPG – Legend Of The Seven Stars (1996, SNES)

cover_large

My second SNES game on the list, Super Mario RPG is just a really fun game to play. The music is both nostalgic and new, and I love listening to it’s soundtrack. As well, I’m a huge fan of RPGs, and seeing one that was rather simplistic, but well-done, was awesome. The story is wacky as it should be, and having Peach and Bowser playable? Awesome. The graphics still hold up all these years later, and I keep meaning to replay it soon, seeing how I’ve beaten it already. Oh, and there aren’t any random battles either, which is great coming from Pokémon and Final Fantasy III, where that gets kind of annoying after a while.

#8). Dragonball Z – The Legacy Of Goku II (2003, GBA)

Dragon_Ball_Z_The_Legacy_Of_Goku_2-%5Bcdcovers_cc%5D-front%5B2%5D

Being a Dragonball Z fan, I really enjoyed this game. The first Legacy Of Goku sucked, but this game really raised the bar. Using music from the dub and being a very RPG-esque make this a no-brainer for the average DBZ fan. It’s certainly one of the better action-adventure games, and it’s defiantly worth checking out if you haven’t already. It certainly took away a lot of time away from me. XD

#7). Super Smash Bros. Series (1999, 2001, 2008 - N64, GCN, Wii)

untitled

I never owned a Nintendo 64. However, my best friend at the time did, and as well, he owned the original Super Smash Bros. And with that, he got me into one of my favorite series. I’m an awesome player (If I do say so myself), seeing as how the only person that actually has the capacity to beat me in Brawl is my brother. In the original & Melee, I was always a Link user. He had a sweet moveset, and his Down+A move was always my favorite to look at. However, when Brawl came around, I became a Zero Suit Samus player, with Meta Knight being my backup. This series will keep me entertained forever, and why in the world hasn’t Nintendo made a portable version yet? Can you imagine the sales of a portable Smash Bros. game?

#6).The Legend Of Zelda - A Link To The Past (1992, SNES)

Zelda03_new_03

You know, people say that Ocarina of Time is the best Zelda game ever. Having not played that game (!), I can’t have it on the list. Of course, having one Zelda game on here is a requirement, and so, the 1st Zelda game I’ve ever played will make the list. However, instead of saying anything about the itself, I’m gonna leave you with a story that tells you how much I love/hate this game.

I never owned the original SNES version of this game, but in 1998, I knew someone who did. After convincing said person to lend me the game, I beat it. Now, keep in mind, I was 5. 5 years old. I don’t know how I beat it, but people have always told me I was a Precocious child, so I guess that helped. Now, because the game wasn’t mine, I returned it. I finally bought it for myself when it was rereleased for the GBA. I bought it, and was unable to beat it, so I sold it. A little wile down the line, I bought it again, and I wasn’t able to beat it. So, I again sold it. And then, when I was little older, I bought it for the 3rd time, and I still was unable to beat it! By now, I was extremely frustrated, and I sold it once more, vowing never to buy it again. But then, I went to GameStop, and saw it for only 25 bucks… And so, I bought it again! Keep in mind I was 16 now, and I really wanted to beat it again. And thank God I did. I bought the game 4 times. That… is ridiculous. How was I able to beat this game when I was 5, and never again until I was 16?

#5).Metroid - Zero Misson (2004, GBA)

Zmbox

This game really got me into Metroid as a series. I had played Prime, but I wasn’t an actual fan. That changed when I bought Zero Mission, and that was one of my best purchases ever. This game is wonderful. The audio is great, the graphics are great, and I like being able to actually play as Samus without her suit for like 1/4th of the game. That was nice. My only real complaint with this game is that despite all the additions, it’s too short. I really wish the game was longer. That’s as much as I can say for Zero Mission.

#4).Fire Emblem – The Sacred Stones (2005, GBA)

Fire_Emblem_The_Sacred_Stones

You know, I once played Final Fantasy III (Which, as of this writing is the only FF game I’ve played). I was not exactly impressed with the game. I had played far better RPG’s. Like Fire Emblem – The Sacred Stones. This game was so loved by me to the point the I’m using many elements from it into the novel I’m writing (Which I’ll blog about soon). This game also holds the rarely-given honor of making my cry once I saw the ending. I mean, knowing that I guided all my units to safety, restored the world to peace and that Eirika and her companions would be free from evil forever? I mean, yeah. That is awesome. The battle system is fairly unique. and the ability to promote your units to more powerful ones is always a treat after dying 50 billion times on the same level. The game is difficult, but for me, I’m always willing to join Renais’ army and beat the game again and again and again.

#3).Pokémon Crystal (2001, GBC)

Pokemoncrystal

I’m gonna go on record and say that the 2nd Generation of Pokémon was the best generation ever. And keep in mind, this is coming from a guy who has played all the Pokémon games. I mean, the 1st Gen. was awesome, but this, in my opinion, was the only game that ever truly encompassed what Pokémon really is.More Pokémon, more places to explore, and the ability to go back to Kanto? YES! It’s really sad that I can’t even play my cartridge anymore though, due to it dying on me, but thank goodness, Nintendo is releasing HeartGold & SoulSilver. And I’m sure that game will be just as awesome as Gold, Silver, and Crystal, and in time, SoulSilver will be sharing 3rd place with Crystal. As well, knowing my personality, I’ll probably cry when I hear the newly redone music, since that was my favorite part of the game. And by the way, I don’t care whop you are, I, VenomSymbiote, WILL be the happiest person in the Universe when the games are released here. Got it?!

#2).Dragonball Z – Legendary Super Warriors (2002, GBC)

Dragon_Ball_Z_LSW

You know, there is a lot I could say about this game. But, in all honesty, if you’ve played the game, and you like it, then we’re alike. And if you don’t… well, watch this. This series of videos says volumes of the game, and it expresses some of the flaws/pluses of the game. That’s all I’ll say on that.

And finally, my number one.

#1).Super Mario World (1991, SNES)

Super_mario_world_box

You know, if I could only take one game with me anywhere, it would be this one.

I don’t think there could’ve been a better  launch game and pack-in for the Super Nintendo than Super Mario World. The vibrant colors showed what the system was capable of right from the get-go. The music, as expected from Koji Kondo, was amazing. The tunes felt like they had been a part of the Mario universe all along, yet had that “fresh” edge to them that let you know it was an all-new experience. The sound design was equally impressive, with the music and sound effects getting a hollow, slight echo to them when going underground into the caves. While the game could be “beaten” by going through only a few key stages, just like 120 stars in Super Mario 64 all those years later, it was a badge of honor to have that little star next to the number “96″ on your main menu.

Whoo! Finally! This post took much longer than intended. I’m curious as to the response, since as much as people like Top lists, what they like even more is pointing out and criticizing a Top 10 list. Hmm…
